Rail Carrier Support in Restricted Fare Family Lookup
Overview
We’ve extended the Restricted Fare Family lookup list in Emburse Book to support rail carriers, allowing Administrators to block specified fare families for a given carrier (e.g., “Business Plus” on ViaRail) while still permitting other families (e.g., “Business”) to be booked.
Key Enhancement: Rail Carrier Lookup List Extension
- Carrier Name as Code
Enter the rail carrier’s name (e.g., ViaRail, Great Western Railway) in the Code field instead of an IATA designator. - Fare Family Description
Enter the exact fare family (e.g., Business Plus, Anytime Day Single) in the Description field; matching is case-insensitive. - Admin Guidance Tooltip
A new tooltip has been added to the Restricted Fare Family lookup list to guide Administrators when creating rail entries.
Technical Details & Updates
- Lookup List Parsing: The system now recognizes non-IATA codes and trims whitespace for carrier names.
- Matching Logic: Fare family descriptions are normalized to lowercase for comparison.
- UI Enhancement: Tooltip text “For rail carriers, enter the carrier name here and the fare family name in the description” appears on hover.
Benefits & Impact
- Precise Control: Administrators can tailor fare family restrictions per rail carrier without affecting other families.
- Consistency: Aligns rail carrier restrictions with existing airfare management workflows.
Action Required
- Configure Lookup List: Review and update your Restricted Fare Family entries to include any rail carriers and fare families your organization wishes to restrict.
Enhanced Type-Ahead Search for Reporting Condition Dropdowns
Overview
Reporting Condition drop-downs now load lookup items on demand—with type-ahead search, clear feedback messages, and keyboard support—so you no longer have to wait for large lists to render on the page.
What’s New
- Instant, On-Demand Search: Start typing, and matching items appear right away, without loading thousands of entries upfront.
- Helpful Feedback:
- If more than 100 matches exist, you will see “Too many matches, please refine your search.”
- If no items match, you will see “No matches found.”
- Guiding Placeholder Tips: The search box cycles through different “Search for…” hints each time you load the page.
- Keyboard Friendly: Use the up/down arrows to pick an item; you won’t be able to proceed until a valid selection is made.
- New Custom Text ID’s:
- 119053: No matches found
- 119054: Too many matches, please refine your search
- 119055: Search for…
Benefits
- Speed: No more slow pages when you have large lookup lists.
- Clarity: Clear messages guide you when searches return too many or no results.
- Usability: Keyboard support and rotating hints make finding the correct item quick and easy.
Asterisk-Formatted Remarks for Galileo PNRs
Overview
When bookings are created through Galileo, Emburse-added remark lines now use an asterisk (*) instead of a slash, allowing agents to jump straight to agency notes with the familiar *NPR command.
What’s New
- Asterisk Remark Format: All Galileo PNR remark lines now read NP.R*xxxxx instead of NP.R/xxxxx.
- Quick-Access Shortcut: Enter *NPR in Galileo to instantly view every Emburse remark.
- Apollo Unchanged: Apollo bookings continue with the existing slash format (R/xxxxx) and /PRR shortcut, so no changes are made for non-Galileo workflows.
Benefits
- Faster Note Retrieval: Agents instantly pull up Emburse remarks in Galileo with *NPR.
- Seamless Transition: Keeps Apollo processes intact so only Galileo workflows benefit from the update.
